Green Smoothie Recipe
Making snack choices simpler, quicker and healthier, be it for the mid-morning hunger pangs or the afternoon slump-downs.
Spring is already here, summer is at our doorstep. Cravings for anything cool seems to overtake every other emotion at the moment. Such being the case, instead of heading for the formulated smoothies from supermarkets, these days I am attacking the gorgeous fresh fruits and leafy greens that the very same supermarkets have to offer.
There can be nothing faster than this super fast food, the quickest possible way to gulp down leafy greens. No less tasty either.
The process is super simple really.
A simple formula to create your own green smoothie recipe would be to use 1 portion of leafy greens, 1 portion of liquid such as almond milk/water/coconut milk, and 1 & 1/2 portion of fruits of your choice. Freeze one of your fruit additions before hand, the result, a beautifully silky smooth cool goodness filled drink.
What I had today was this one –
baby spinach – 1 cup
almond milk – 1 cup
pineapple chopped – 1 cup
frozen ripe banana – 1
apple chopped – 1/2
hemp protein powder – 1 tsp
- baby spinach - 1 cup
- almond milk - 1 cup
- pineapple chopped - 1 cup
- frozen rip banana - 1
- apple chopped - ½
- hemp protein powder - 1 dessert spoonful
- add spinach and almond milk first to the blender. blend to a smooth consistency.
- now add the fruits, blend until well combined,
- add hemp protein powder and blend again.
